Haha, these are both cute and funny at the same time!

I started a new project about two weeks ago, working to get it done for my baby sister’s birthday. She just turned 13………..I can’t believe she’s so old! Her favorite musician EVER is Phil Keaggy, a Christian singer and guitar player (a fabulous one). He’s been around for a long time and we used to listen to him while I was growing up, but just recently Alayna has become infatuated with him. So I decided to make her a Phil Keaggy tote bag. It’s the fist time I’ve tried making one of these, and I used a new product called Bubble Jet Set 2000, so that I could print photos directly onto my fabric. It worked great! So, here are a few pics of the project in steps. Like I said, I’ve never made a tote bag before and it was a figure-it-out-as-you-go-along type of thing. I do think it turned out really nice though. Enjoy the photos!

One of the printed (and washed) sheets of fabric

All of the printed fabric pieces, cut and ready to sew

The two patterned rectangles on either side of the center photo, are actually pockets.

Front of bag and bag lining (with pocket)

Back of bag and bag lining

(The clock fabric used for the back of the bag and other accents,
stands for one of Alayna’s favorite songs: “Tme”.)

The bag and lining are sewn together at this point, and waiting for the band to be sewn to the top.

The finished product!

I think she likes it!

Here’s a new blog that my good friend Sasha told me about: http://littlebrunettelady.blogspot.com/

“London”

One of my all-time favorite Brandon Heath songs

Last night’s episode of Lost was one of the saddest I have ever seen. Yes, when Charlie died I felt upset………but we were all expecting it, right? “The Variable” was somewhat of a shock, especially since I grew to love Daniel Faraday more and more as the episode went on. He was so sad and pathetic and I felt so sorry for him. After the awful ending, I decided that I wanted to make a memorial for Jeremy Davies’ character. So here it is…………a tribute to a perpetual scrunch muffin, and one of my all-time favorite Lost characters. He will be missed every week.

Can I sing you a song

About what happens when you’re gone

My whole world seems to fall

And it doesn’t seem like Lost at all

I must confess that it’s true

It won’t be the same without you

Your time there had just begun

Without you it feels undone

Can I sing you a song

About what happens when you’re gone

My whole world seems to fall

And it doesn’t seem like Lost at all

Revised by me

I’ve been drooling over these darling flats from JCPenny ever since I first saw them in their catalog, a month or so ago. I love the pleats, buckle, patterned lining, and also the fact that they have a very short heel; something I need since I’m so tall. So when I saw these at the store ON SALE a few days ago, I knew I HAD to have them. Surprisingly they fit me, although these are a size 10 and I normally wear 11. I wanted the yellow pair, but they were out of stock in the 10, so I settled for brown, which are just as adorable. I should have bought black too………but then do I really need that many pairs of shoes? 😉 They really are cute though………maybe if I go back…………

I love this brand! Decree has the cutest styles.

Picnic Frock GIVEAWAY!!!!

Simply Beautiful! Hope I win!

My featured Etsian for the week is Sascalia. She has some wonderfully winsome artwork in her shop. I love the fact that these are all mixed media, with beautiful papers and other objects creating most of the picture. They are sold as a print on wood, which really adds to the end effect. Check out her other items…………they are very affordable and so cute!

I recently had a few inches cut off my hair, but now it seems really flat and I hate the way that it looks. So……..I’ve been searching the Internet and magazines to find the perfect bob cut that might lay a little better. It’s tricky to find the right style for my face shape, as it’s kind of long and round, with a large nose. Hhhhmmmm…………..I wish there was an awesome stylist nearby who could tell me JUST what kind of cut I need. But for now I’ll amuse myself with photos that I’ve found online. Of course some of these styles require curly hair (which I do not possess), most of them do not sport bangs (I do), and I have NO IDEA if my hair would ever look like any of these photos, even if I got the same cut. If only I could turn my arm backwards and make my hair grow out again, just like the doll I had as a kid. Now that would be convenient. 😀 If I got the wrong style…….*crank the arm backwards* and I could start all over again! Okay, ignore this weird babbling and just move on to the pictures…………

Katie Holmes (now this is one of my favorites………but it looks like too much upkeep)

Jessica Alba

Cute Asian haircut

Victoria Beckham

I like how her hair tapers down from back to front

Another darling Asian cut. They are so cute!

While I don’t really like the way this cut is styled, I do think the short layers are cute.

Katie Holmes (A little too flat, but I like the length and bangs)

I love this style!

Fantastic

Here’s a cute option, just add some shorter bangs across her forehead
